Story

Deadpool is given a place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by the Time Variance Authority, but instead recruits a variation of Wolverine to save his universe from extinction. The Wolverine team discusses how he dealt with risqué pranks, and Emma Corinne discusses what it was like working with good megastars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. He later said that after watching the first Deadpool film, he regretted that statement and expressed to Ryan his interest in seeing the two characters meet on the big screen. When asked why he decided to return to this film, he simply replied, “I just wanted to do it and I felt it in my gut,” adding that he wanted to have the best time on set with Ryan Reynolds. Similarly, Reynolds had wanted to work with Jackman since the first Deadpool film and was saddened when he (Jackman) withdrew from the role.

Kevin Chipman: It’s Wolverine

As Wolverine and Deadpool set off on their odyssey in the Honda Odyssey, the clock in the car jumps forward three hours during their conversation. Elliot Chipman: This is Deadpool. Deadpool: You’re damn right. The fox killed him. Disney brought it back.

This film was painful to watch at times. While Deadpool is known for his vulgar, foul language, this film goes overboard.

It’s getting old

Considering all the jokes in the previous films and trailers, this film was a near-empty tank of gas. The plot was just plain stupid and didn’t do much for the Deadpool franchise. Most of the humor followed the same formula. After a while, I felt like a funny comedian telling the same joke over and over again, but in a different style. There were some funny scenes, but for the first time in a Deadpool film, there were a lot of scenes where I just lost interest and checked my watch.

They probably should have taken the wins from the first two Deadpool films and left them at that – and I would agree 100%. Not worth a theater ticket, but good enough when it hits digital. The final season of What We Do in the Shadows; one of the biggest TV and streaming releases of the month.
